Our Mission

At Hope and Dreams Trust, we believe every bright child deserves a chance no matter their background. We support talented students from underprivileged families across India and help them reach their full potential through education.

Through our educational programs, we find bright young minds using an entrance test. For example, in 2022, over 72,000 students applied for our scholarship. After a careful, multi-step selection process, we awarded full scholarships to just 97 students—a selection rate of just 0.13%. Our scholarships cover everything a student needs to succeed: school fees, books, transportation, after-school support, technology, clothing, and even meals.

We started this journey in 2016. Our vision is simple: identify exceptionally bright students from underprivileged backgrounds and provide them with the kind of world-class education we would want for our own children. What began as a humble idea has grown into a movement. Over the past nine years, this journey has brought us moments of joy, hard-earned successes, unforeseen challenges, and above all, profound learning. Our mission has always been crystal clear: to transform the lives of bright underprivileged children by helping them become high earners through the power of education. In India, the path to economic mobility, especially for those born into poverty, runs most reliably through professional education, particularly in fields like engineering and medicine.

We run two different scholarship programs:

Project Hope - 6th to 12th Grade Scholarships. Under Project Hope, we find bright students entering 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grades; we get them admitted to a high quality private CBSE affiliated school, our partner school, and pay all their educational expenses. In addition, we provide our students JEE/NEET/NLU coaching in 11th and 12th grade. When a resedential program is needed, we also provide for our students with housing as well as food and clothing in addition to the education.

Sitare University Scholarship Program: In this age of AI, it is imperative that India builds a lot more AI talent to further advance our great nation. Our most ambitious project is to build a new AI focussed university for the bright underprivileged youth of India. With the mission to build AI talent for India, in India we have started the process of building Sitare University near Indore, Madhya Pradesh. We are incredibly thankful to The Honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Madhya Pradesh to grant us a "Letter of Intent" to establish Sitare University in the great state of Madhya Pradesh.

In the meantime, as we build our own university campus, we are providing scholarships to bright students from poor communities to get their B.Tech degrees. in Computer Science at our partner university, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University in Lucknow. This scholarship is provided to students who score well in JEE Mains, as well as in their 10th and 12th grades. Students who qualify for admission at SRMU under our criteria, and have a family income of Rs. 3,00,000 per year or less qualify for a 100% scholarship making their entire university education free of cost (fees, hostel, food, even clothing).

This scholarship, as well as the university, is named in recognition of our largest donor, Sitare Foundation.

Educating underprivileged children is a big challenge—but we're committed for the long run. With a scientific, step-by-step approach, we are working to change lives, uplift families, and transform communities—one student at a time.
